Conifer’s culture is that once you’re here we want to keep you here by challenging you and promoting you, which is why we’re looking for someone to join our National Medicaid Center as an A/R Representative. This is a very important role for our National Medicaid Center because you will help us to minimize our clients’ hospitals accounts receivables, and increase their revenue. In this role you will be responsible for:
* Working the remittance advice from Medicaid and making sure we have the accurate payments through making changes to the financial class, or correcting the account balance in accordance to the Medicaid disposition, or following up on the denied claims.
* Correcting errors on your assigned claims by either referencing the account notes, UB-04, the Medicaid state manual or by referring the claim to the appropriate facility representative for further follow-up and corrective action.
* Updating and documenting in the system all changes made to the account (s), and maintaining quality control on all your assigned accounts for the correct code, insurance address, and financial class.
Qualifications:
* Intermediate understanding of hospital billing form requirements (CMS 1450 and CMS 1500)
* Intermediate understanding of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9 coding regulations and guidelines
* Understanding of Medicaid billing and collection guidelines preferred
* Entry level understanding of MS Word
* Intermediate experience with MS Excel
* Ability to provide excellent customer service to both our internal and external customers
* Knowledge of hospital information systems (i.e. Claims Manager) and state Medicaid websites a plus.
* High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in business administration or accounting preferred
* 2 – 4 years experience in a hospital business environment performing billing and/or follow-up functions preferred.
